I currently have a nice screwdriver set that I probably bought for $20. Has a really nice case and works well.

• Only $13 on DealExtreme, seems like a good set! Two types, one has lots of reviews and a flexible cable, the other has tweezers.
• Includes tri-wing (iPhone?, def Macbook battery, wii remote) and others that I haven't seen before!

Maybe I want to use the Saleae? Or a competitor, the DSLogic. good comparison. Definitely want to sell the Rigol as I don't need the bandwidth (right now) and it doesn't have logic analysis built in.

• Saleae doesn't have external clock, continuous triggering,
• Another competitor is SmartScope by LabNation
• Saleae only goes up to 10V on the pro models, 5V on the lesser models.

Probably don't need full scope probes for lower frequency signals (cheap Saleae logic analyzer probes are ok). http://electronics.stackexchange.com/a/56145/71181

• One downside of analog recording functionality of Saleae Logic is that you can't increase the voltage gain, so not great for small signals, <100mv

• So, getting a full arbitrary function generator is probably a little overkill unless you're really into analog electronics testing. For now, just get a good scope and then look for a signal generator that does what you'd like. Thread on Electronics StackExchange

• Doesn't have easy one-shot zooming, moving around and stuff! Which is really lame! Returning…
• Want to get an oscilloscope/waveform generator/logic analyzer. The CircuitGear CGR-101 seems to be a good option, except it doesn't seem to have a logic analyzer. Waiting to hear back if logic analysis is possible. Software is OPEN SOURCE & WIN/MAC/UBUNTU and quite intuitive for what it does. One person expressed concern that it was connected to your computer (and why you should go with a real scope), but I'm willing to take the cost and portability hit for now.
• Also their Analog Circuit Design PDF looks really solid w/ good practical examples. Buy when you get their scope?

• IKA Logic. Seems to be a good product, based on ATMega168, and only ~$80. However, not quite as “solid” as Saelae and Windows-only. Also, lots of great tutorials on their website!
