Where did we come from?

Wow, this topic is really controversial! Lots of cherry picking and different perspectives on the same evidence!

• Book that Mark Hoth recommended: Refuting Evolution (I have a copy). It's a response to Teaching About Evolution, put out by the National Academy of Science.
• Mark Hoth also said while genetic code can move around and mutate, it doesn't acquire new code / understanding on its own. We've only seen adaptation, not a dog becoming a non-dog. Right, that's <probably> why Darwin said “common ancestor” and not becoming something different. Also, Darwin argues for long periods of time and small changes, big changes can occur

• Why does Provine say evolution / “no purpose in life” leads one to reject free will? What is free will again?
• Provine: “There is very strong evidence indeed for evolution by descent.”? Is he talking about micro-evolution or macro-evolution?
